This shell extension makes it easy to view or change the creation and/or modification date of a file quickly and easily. Just right-click the file, choose Change Date & Time, and you'll see the dialog shown in the screenshot. The dialog's controls show the current dates for the selected file. Change either of the dates as needed, and click Apply, or simply click the Touch Now button to apply the current date and time to the file's creation and modification dates.

In Windows 2000 and later you can also change the creation dates of folders in exactly the same way.

You can even change the dates for multiple files in one go. Select the files you want to change and pick the same menu item. This dialog shows the details for a file when you click its name in the list. Enter a new creation date and/or modification date for the selected files, and click Apply.

If a folder is included in the selected, you can choose to apply the same date/time changes to the entire contents of the folder.
