Drag/Drop Taskbar Buttons
If you're choosey about the order in which windows appear on your taskbar, ShellToys offers the ability to rearrange taskbar buttons in Windows Vista/XP by dragging and dropping them into new positions.
As you drag a button, an insertion mark appears on the taskbar to show where the button will be placed if you drop it.
You can also hide taskbar buttons by dragging them off the taskbar and onto the desktop (or by dragging them beyond the first or last visible taskbar button). Hiding a window's taskbar button doesn't affect the visibility of the window itself; however, if you minimize that window, it can only be restored using Alt+Tab or Win+Tab.
To display taskbar buttons that have been hidden, either:
- Hold the Shift key and click any visible taskbar button
- Press the global hotkey Win+F12
