Play Media Album

The Play Media Album shell extension is a simple audio player which plays the MP3, Windows Media Audio, Ogg Vorbis and Wave Audio files in the selected folder one at a time in alphabetical order by file name, or the tracks on an audio CD. If you organize your audio tracks into folders by album (or create your own compilations of tracks), this tool gives you an easy way to get a little background music going while you work.

It even recognizes shortcuts to MP3, OGG, WMA and WAV files, letting you create compilation folders of tracks without filling your hard disk with multiple copies of the same media files.

Just right-click any drive or folder containing audio files or an audio CD (or the background of the current folder's window) and choose Play Media Album from the ShellToys menu. The compact album-player window will appear and the first track will start to play.

You can expand the window to display the track listing – the currently-playing track is highlighted. Play automatically advances through the list until all tracks have been played. To jump to a particular track, just double-click it. When that track finishes, play continues from the track that follows it in the list.

You can click the name of the current folder to select a different folder to play, or drag-and-drop a drive or folder into the player to play the tracks it contains. You can also define 'skiplists' of tracks you dislike in particular folders and the player will automatically jump past them.
