Run With Parameters

If you ever need to run a particular program using different parameters, arguments or switches, the Run With Parameters shell extension saves the need to create multiple different shortcuts to the program. Instead, simply right-click the program's executable (or a shortcut to it) and choose Run With Parameters from the ShellToys menu.

In the Run With Parameters dialog, you can either choose a previously-saved set of parameters, or type the parameters to use.

This utility can store history lists of previously-used parameters, and you can choose whether and how the parameters you type should be stored:

  • This program only: A history list is created for the current program and the new parameters are added to it

  • Any program: A 'general purpose' history list is created and these parameters are added to that list

  • Don't store these parameters: The new parameters will not be stored in a history list
The drop-down list in this dialog shows any parameters saved specifically for the current program, followed by any parameters stored for use by any program.
